Protect what matters. Fit what moves.

Protection begins with the product’s geometry, weight and vulnerable surfaces. Materials and construction are proposed against the handling conditions, then reviewed through samples and agreed validation.

BUILD A USEFUL TECHNICAL BRIEF

Specify the details
that change the solution.

The items below guide a sourcing discussion. They are not a catalogue of confirmed materials, stock or certified products.

Start with the product

The right brief describes what must be protected and how the item is handled throughout its journey.

  • Product dimensions, weight and centre of gravity
  • Drawing or 3D geometry, with sensitive details removed
  • Fragile surfaces, protrusions and restricted contact areas
  • Single-use / returnable and packing workflow
  • Quantity, destination and transport / storage conditions

Define acceptance

A visual fit check is not a transport-performance test. Agree the evidence needed for the intended shipment.

  • Insert material, density and contact requirements
  • Outer box or case constraints and reuse expectations
  • ESD, cleanliness or moisture requirements if applicable
  • Prototype fit and packing / unpacking review
  • Any required drop, vibration or other validation plan

BEFORE AN ORDER

Make acceptance
part of the brief.

Ask for application-specific confirmation from the proposed manufacturer. Any performance, compliance or certification requirement must be supported by product-specific evidence.

Sourcing model

Third-party manufacture. The proposed manufacturer and product are confirmed for each inquiry.

Quantity & timing

Minimum quantities, availability, pricing and lead times are assessed against the final requirement.

Samples & documents

Scope, cost and availability of samples, drawings and supporting documents are agreed in the proposal.

LET’S DEFINE THE NEXT STEP

Tell us what the product needs to do.

A clear application and an existing drawing or part reference are useful starting points.
